Butedale is an old salmon cannery built in 1901 and abandoned in 1974. Butedale is about 70 miles (100km) down the Douglas Channel. |
| Killer whale chasing salmon at the head of Douglas Channel in Kitimat. When the whales come in they spook the salmon. It takes 2 - 3 days for the fishing to pick up again. It makes for good river fishing as the whales chase the fish into the Kitimat River. |  (55 KB) |
